Kari McFarlane

Kari McFarlane serves at the Market HR Lead for the Southeastern US at Google. Kari has over 15 years of experience providing strategic people operations, talent management, organizational development and change management strategy consulting. In this role Kari leads the people operations strategies for the south eastern region which includes : Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia & Washington, D.C. and will be based in Atlanta, GA. Market HR provides a structured, location-based approach to managing the operational complexities, compliance risks, and cultural nuances that are unique to the sites and countries where Google operates. Apart from her role at Google, the culture strategist will continue to serve as CO-Founder of Akinship . Akinshipis a professional networking community for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to share experiences and transfer knowledge. Akinship’s mission is to empower the professional growth of BIPOC groups by fostering a community of “kins' ' through sharing lived experiences. Kari holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the The Johns Hopkins University – Carey Business School. Master's degree in Public Administration from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Political Science from Howard University. Kari has lived in many places but calls both Chicago & Atlanta home. In her spare time, Kari enjoys running, traveling, salsa dancing, and riding her Peloton. Kari is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Kari is the loving wife of fellow Howard Alum and tech enthusiast Jeremy McFarlane and the mother of two sons Elijah & Noah Mcfarlane.
