History Founded in the Spring of 2019, the Duke Latinx Business Organization was created to address the lack of Latinx representation in the existing business organizations on campus. Once the gap was recognized, we took action and created our own organization that would provide our community with access to the same resources and networks enjoyed by other groups on campus. Mission The Duke Latinx Business Organization seeks to prepare Latinx students for business roles at elite firms where Latinx talent has traditionally been underrepresented. Through a passionate peer and mentor community, we educate students on a variety of industries, support them as they determine which area is best for them, and train them to succeed in their career thereafter. Progress Within the first year, Duke LBO blossomed to over 70 members. We instituted a professional development curriculum led by our dedicated seniors Manuel and Juan, we acquired two exclusive networking events with Rothschild & Co. and Blackstone, and we set up a mentorship program that will create bonds that hopefully last beyond our years at Duke.
