Our team collaborates across disciplines, relying on our skills to add value to this unique culture, positively impacting the successes of our community. We're hiring a Lab and General Operations Intern at the Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab in Boston, reporting to our Lab Operations Lead.

You'll be the best fit for this role if you have customer service experience and an interest in pursuing science. You should be a highly capable, self-directed individual who enjoys a healthy mix of problem-solving, getting things done, and customer-facing interactions. This internship would begin in June and last 12 weeks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the team to maintain the labs and troubleshoot technical issues on equipment, such as such as incubators, centrifuges, cold storage, containment equipment, and microscopes, as well as cleaning equipment, such as autoclaves and glass washers.

  • Execute all activities related to the front desk including greeting residents and guests, receiving packages and facilitating deliveries.

  • Maintain a welcoming and friendly café environment through daily stocking and weekly maintenance.

  • Monitor weekly upkeep of inventory levels in shared spaces including shared lab space, conference rooms, and public areas.

  • Engage in fun activities and events that help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide to LabCentral's values.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Willingness to learn about how to use a wide variety of lab equipment.

  • Display a high level of customer service to ensure the residents have a positive and productive experience while at LabCentral.

  • Adept MS Suite, professional email and common computing skills.

  • Ability to work onsite at our location in Allston, MA.
