The Analyst, FP&A is part of the Finance Organization responsible for leveraging their industry expertise and analytical acumen to provide market and business performance insights to the specific business supported. This role is an individual contributor role with developmental opportunities to other FP&A roles.This role will build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to proficiently understand the insights needed to create a competitive advantage for decision-making. Also, the role will conduct ad-hoc business analysis to support key initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of data structures and strong analysis and visualization skills. Given the focus on business insights, the candidate will have exposure to leadership and must exemplify strong communication skills and executive presence along with attention to detail in execution.

This role is located in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Analyzing business data points to summarize and effectively communicate critical insights for key business decision-makers

  • Conducting ad-hoc volumetric or business analysis for business stakeholders

  • Conducting asset financial reviews with key business stakeholders

  • Working with Business Development to analyze/model and assess new business opportunities

  • Cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders for context understanding and iterating on analytical deliverables

  • Creating strong partnerships with other data owners within Operations, Logistics, Accounting,Commercial, and IT teams

  • Providing business direction to IT and enterprise Data Engineering functions

  • Creating and maintaining strong team dynamics within the Business Services team

  • Assisting in the preparation, reporting, and analysis of the monthly financial results versus forecast, prior year, and budget

  • Identifying process improvements to effectively condense big data down to meaningful metrics and analytics

  • Develop and update forecast models and methodologies to align with changes in the business

  • Performing ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested

  • Partnering with Corporate Finance staff to identify improvement opportunities, including opportunities to streamline planning and reporting and support ongoing initiatives

  • Supporting internal control initiatives

  • Submitting weekly reports of progress, key milestones, open issues, and available opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting county

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/Accounting, with 2+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis and knowledge of management reporting metrics

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team

  • Excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to independently resolve complex problems

  • Proven ability to lead and leverage cross-functional resources

  • Ability to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation of criteria for obtaining results

  • Ability to manage upwards, help gather analytical needs, outcome understanding, ownership and commitment to activity timings

  • Active learner with the ability to manage and perform multiple tasks concurrently

  • Ability to create an environment of inclusiveness and foster communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of industry experience

  • Technology skills: SAP and Power BI
