2025 Summer Internship - Oil Analytics
About the role:
Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will be:
Collecting and centralizing data from a wide array of sources to feed into more comprehensive analytics. Collecting information from internal reference manuals, employee interviews, and Glencore systems, compiling and analysing data, and developing and presenting solutions to key stakeholders to drive strategic decision making;
Monitor flows in and out of the United States and total American region across all clean products - gasoline, distillates, jet fuel and naphtha.
Manage the US gasoline balance to encompass wider views on flows, production and demand, and then relaying that information clearly and concisely to the trading team.
Generate efficient analytic reports for teams using various data visualization software like PowerBI and Tableau.
Optimize and streamline reporting to remove mistakes done manually as well as create more time to dedicate to strong quantitative analytics.
Leverage quantitative background combined with computer science skills to complete in-depth analysis of the US refining processes.
As the successful candidate you will have experience in, and demonstrate the following:
Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent with excellent academic record.
Knowledge of Python and SQL is a plus.
Strong analysis/writing/planning skills.
Advanced proficiency with Excel & Word.
Proactive, detail-oriented, reliable, and good time management / organizational skills.
Ambitious and entrepreneurial, willing to learn.
Strong interest in international commodity markets.
Additional information:
This is a paid internship – $23/hour.
In person office attendance is required in accordance with Glencore’s US policy (currently Monday – Thursday).
Office is located at 330 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10017.
Intern will be responsible for transport costs to/from the Glencore office.
