The Associate, General Ledger Cash will be responsible for daily cash postings for all RWE Americas companies. Established best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process to operate in an efficient and effective manner. The Associate will collaborate closely with Treasury/AP/Revenue/GL Teams, maintain a high quality, deliverable-focused culture within the team, and continuously improve the efficiency of the accounting and reporting processes.
Role Responsibilities:
Responsible for daily cash postings for all RWE Americas companies including clearing cash postings, preparing and sending Outstanding Bank Items, work closely with Treasury/AP teams to research correct postings, etc.
Responsible for Treasury related items for all RWE Americas companies including preparing and posting cash deposit Journal entries, preparing monthly bank reconciliation, downloading bank statements, etc.
Accounting support for intercompany invoicing process (coding in/out-going invoices), Intercompany reconciliation.
Preform various month end close duties including journal entries preparation, balance sheet account reconciliation and roll forward schedules
Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective manner
Provide ad hoc analyses as needed to internal customers
Assist in special projects
Maintain a high quality, deliverable-focused culture within the team
Job Requirements and Experiences:
Bachelor’s degree, Accounting
CPA license preferred, not required
Minimum 2 years of relevant work in the energy industry or related field
Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP
Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $61,000 - $91,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
