The Analyst will perform quantitative analysis for bond transactions in support of the Texas-based Special Districts banking team. This role is responsible for preparing and executing detailed financing plans, analyzing complex data, and developing creative strategies to meet client needs. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
The Impact You’ll Make
Manage the bond transaction process, including preparing disclosure documents, final numbers, and closing instructions.
Develop financing scenarios and models using Excel and DBC, including financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, and bond sizing.
Collect and analyze data to identify issues, define objectives, and evaluate alternatives to recommend effective solutions.
Communicate with working group professionals—internal (investment bankers) and external (issuers, bond counsel, underwriters)—to facilitate transactions.
Perform and verify all financial calculations and revisions during assigned bond pricings, obtain underwriter sign-off, and ensure distribution of final schedules.
Monitor market conditions to apply financing and optimization strategies tailored to client needs; maintain a database of refunding opportunities.
Assist clients in interpreting financing options and developing creative strategies aligned with their unique goals; may require travel and attendance at meetings.
Closely follow internal compliance requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring To Baird
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Math or Economics with 0-3 years industry experience
Must obtain FINRA SIE, 50, 52, 63 licenses within twelve months
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and produce accurate results under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with DBC Finance preferred.
Experience preparing disclosure documents for bond issuance.
Superior organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks independently or as part of a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of fundamental investment concepts used in the securities industry.
Demonstrated initiative and a commitment to professional development.
