Your Responsibilities
The Chicago office of thyssenkrupp North America, is seeking an intern to work in their Accounting and Finance Departments. During the internship, you will learn accounting, finance and reporting processes within the North American Regional Headquarters, which are based on International Financial Reporting Accounting Standards (IFRS) and which are supported by integrated SAP systems. With operating companies throughout North America, the company is a diversified conglomerate with its worldwide headquarters located in Germany.
During this assignment, you will be a valuable team member learning and assisting in all aspects of the accounting and finance department, including:
Accounts payable and cash processes:
ERP Interfaces
Journal entries
Account reconciliations
Accrual processes
Intercompany cost charge-outs and allocations
Month end close and reporting/analysis
Internal in-house bank; automating bank statements
Cash forecast reconciliation
Ad-hoc financial analysis
Qualifications:
Accounting and Finance students completing their senior year or recently graduated, with an overall GPA of 3.3 or higher and interested in an accounting or finance as a career.
Internship will provide hands-on experience with IFRS accounting, financial processes, and reporting & analysis.
Eligible to work full time in the United States, without sponsorship.
Strong experience with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
This is a 9-month internship, with the possibility of extension. Work hours are Monday through Friday (40-hour work week) with possible overtime, as needed.
This is a remote work opportunity, but there is a strong desire to have a candidate close to our Chicago or Southfield, MI office with the ability to come into the office when required.
