Investment Operations at Oaktree Capital Management is a middle office team focused on private investments that seeks to serve as the central hub for the public/private investment lifecycle. Program Overview Oaktree is seeking a summer intern with a 2027 or 2028 expected graduation date to spend 10-weeks within our Investment Operations group.
The responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in a 10-week internship program;

  • Understand general departmental data extraction and modeling - planning and design.

  • Understanding the menu of work that Information Solutions Team is responsible for, within Oaktree.

  • Understand the data and technology architecture at Oaktree

  • Meet other interns and build relationships across the organization

  • Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills;

  • Strong technical/programming skills, including Python, SQL and familiarity with databases, and exposure to AI

  • Fluency in core Python libraries, and exposure to AI/ML packages as applied to finance

  • Academic background in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another hard science discipline

  • Understanding of finance and economics, with knowledge of private financial markets highly desirable

  • Experience with data analysis

  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel

Education Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a high GPA from a university or college. Typically hard science and engineering undergraduates, Masters in Financial Engineering/ Operations Research/ Financial Mathematics, etc. or someone in a Finance program with strong programming and data skills.

Summer Stipend: $36/hour
