What To Expect Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue through fall term (ending approximately December 2026) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
Tesla's New Markets team, which plans and executes Tesla’s international expansion, is seeking a self-starting intern to assist with business planning, due diligence, and program support. The New Markets team is responsible for identifying opportunities and organizational challenges in new countries as well as for the end-to-end program management of active market entry projects. You will be responsible for business planning and due diligence for global projects as well as ad-hoc support, including analyzing CBA/financial viability and main risks, challenges of near- to medium term market entry opportunities.
What You'll Do
Supporting market entry and international expansion related business planning efforts, including aggregating/synthesizing feedback from finance, sales, infrastructure, charging, and other key subject matter teams and experts into executive-ready business plans, presentations, and documents
Country-specific due diligence and analysis for Tesla’s medium-term global market entry roadmap and next emerging and frontier markets, including both from growth/revenue opportunities as well as organizational levels of effort/cost
Retrospective market analysis for existing markets to better inform and improve future planning
Ad-hoc support as needed for specific active market entry challenges
Reviewing and improving existing planning and strategy documents, e.g. global prioritization methodology, updating/analyzing/segmenting global TAM/SAM sales data, improving and developing Financial Model and Market Sizing models
Design and improve program and project management systems to streamline and automate progress tracking and identifying milestones and risks for active market entry projects
What You'll Bring
Strong generalist with high intellectual horsepower and ability to deep-dive into unfamiliar subject-matters areas (Consulting, PE/IB, Financial analysis/modelling experience, Business school background, etc. helpful)
Strong understanding of macroeconomic, trade, policy, incentive, economic, political, etc. considerations as it relates to market entry planning and strategizing a plus
Self-starter who can handle multiple projects with conflicting priorities with minimal direction, comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic work environment and self-directed problem-solving
Confident and efficient communicator, excellent verbal and written English communication skills and ability to provide or prepare professional presentations to senior managers and executives
High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; Project management software applications and familiarity with AI applications a plus
