What We Are Looking For

Kinder Morgan is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Right of Way (ROW) Analyst to join our team. This position will play a critical role in supporting field agents with right-of-way (ROW) field disbursement processes, ensuring financial compliance, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. The ROW Analyst will be responsible for bank transactions, journal entries, compliance monitoring, training, and audits, all while ensuring adherence to SOX controls and best financial practices.

What You Will Do
Position Requirements:

  • Process and manage ROW field disbursement checks, ensuring timely and accurate bank deposits.

  • Review, interpret, and process payments in accordance with contractual obligations, ensuring accuracy and proper payee issuance.

  • Reconcile and maintain financial records related to ROW payments, including journal entries (JEs) in accordance with accounting standards.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, and corporate policies.

  • Work closely with field agents to ensure proper disbursement procedures are followed.

  • Conduct training sessions for field agents and staff on check processing, compliance requirements, and financial controls.

  • Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders and addressing inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Perform periodic audits of ROW financial transactions and documentation to verify accuracy and compliance.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed.

  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in ROW financial operations.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory changes related to ROW financial management.

Qualifications
What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in financial operations, accounting, right-of-way management, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and SOX regulations.

  • Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in ERP Systems (Infor Lawson preferred) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communication and training skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to address and resolve inquiries efficiently and professionally.

Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of the successful candidate
