Meet the hiring team

    Laurel D.

    Founder of Sparc

  • KeyPath is looking for a highly analytical Product Quality & Reliability Intern to help us test, challenge, and improve a rapidly developing PropTech and FinTech platform.

This is not a passive QA role where you simply follow a checklist.

You will act as one of the last lines of defense between our engineering team and our users.

Your job is to find the things our developers did not anticipate.

    That means asking questions like:

    ·       What happens if a landlord uploads the wrong document?

    ·       What happens if a lease contains conflicting dates?

    ·       What happens if a payment appears twice?

    ·       What happens if an integration stops syncing?

    ·       What happens when a user refreshes halfway through onboarding?

    ·       What happens on mobile instead of desktop?

    ·       What happens when AI extracts the wrong rent amount?

    ·       What happens when a user does something completely unexpected?

If you enjoy breaking software, investigating strange behavior, and figuring out exactly why something went wrong, this role is designed for you.

    About KeyPath

KeyPath is an AI-enabled PropTech and FinTech platform designed to align the interests of renters and property owners.

For landlords, KeyPath helps improve tenant retention, reduce turnover and maintenance costs, and improve property-level NOI.

For tenants, KeyPath provides rewards, financial participation tools, and pathways toward wealth creation and homeownership.

The platform connects with existing property-management systems and combines:

    ·       tenant rewards

    ·       property and resident data

    ·       document ingestion

    ·       AI-powered analytics

    ·       integrations

    ·       financial participation

    ·       landlord dashboards

    ·       tenant dashboards

    ·       investor tools

    ·       municipal and community reporting

You will be helping determine whether those systems actually work when real people use them.

    What You Will Work On

You will test KeyPath across major product workflows, including:

    Landlord Onboarding

    Test:

    ·       account creation

    ·       property setup

    ·       unit setup

    ·       tenant onboarding

    ·       lease uploads

    ·       property documents

    ·       valuation inputs

    ·       integrations

    AI Document Ingestion

KeyPath uses AI and structured parsing to extract information from documents such as:

    ·       leases

    ·       rent rolls

    ·       property tax records

    ·       utility bills

    ·       insurance documents

    ·       spreadsheets

    ·       PDFs

    ·       images

    You will help answer:

Did KeyPath extract the correct information?

You will compare source documents against extracted results and identify:

    ·       wrong values

    ·       missing values

    ·       formatting failures

    ·       confidence-score problems

    ·       document-type misclassification

    ·       edge cases

    Tenant Rewards

    Test whether:

    ·       eligible activities are tracked correctly

    ·       rewards display correctly

    ·       duplicate events are prevented

    ·       reward history reconciles

    ·       user notifications are accurate

    ·       disputed or incomplete activities behave correctly

    PMS and Third-Party Integrations

Help QA data flowing from systems such as:

    ·       Buildium

    ·       Rent Manager

    ·       Rentec Direct

    ·       Innago

    ·       AppFolio

    ·       Yardi

    ·       RealPage

    ·       other property-management and resident platforms

You will verify that external data becomes accurate KeyPath data without duplication or corruption.

    Dashboards and Analytics

Test landlord, tenant, investor, and community-facing interfaces for:

    ·       incorrect calculations

    ·       stale data

    ·       broken charts

    ·       inconsistent states

    ·       bad filters

    ·       missing information

    ·       confusing workflows

    Mobile and Responsive Testing

Users will not all experience KeyPath on the same device.

    You will test:

    ·       desktop

    ·       tablet

    ·       mobile

    ·       different browsers

    ·       different screen sizes

    What You Will Actually Do

    You may:

    ·       Build structured test cases

    ·       Run exploratory testing

    ·       Find and reproduce bugs

    ·       Write detailed bug reports

    ·       Record screen captures demonstrating failures

    ·       Determine reproduction steps

    ·       Assign severity and priority recommendations

    ·       Test fixes before tickets are closed

    ·       Conduct regression testing after releases

    ·       Test APIs using Postman or similar tools

    ·       Validate frontend behavior against backend responses

    ·       Compare AI-extracted data against source documents

    ·       Test unusual and adversarial user behavior

    ·       Help develop automated testing over time

    ·       Work directly with KeyPath engineers through GitHub and Trello

A Good Bug Report at KeyPath

    We are not looking for:

    “The dashboard doesn’t work.”

    We are looking for:

    Environment: Chrome 152 / Windows
    User: Landlord
    Page: Property Onboarding
Issue: Duplicate unit created after page refresh

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Create property
    2. Add Unit 204
    3. Click Continue
    4. Refresh before confirmation finishes
    5. Return to unit list

    Expected: One Unit 204
    Actual: Two Unit 204 records
    Severity: High
Evidence: Screenshot + network response attached

That level of precision makes engineering faster.

    What We Are Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you:

    ·       notice inconsistencies other people miss

    ·       are naturally skeptical about whether something actually works

    ·       enjoy troubleshooting

    ·       communicate technical problems clearly

    ·       can follow complex workflows

    ·       are comfortable learning unfamiliar software

    ·       are organized and detail-oriented

    ·       can work independently

    ·       are willing to test the same workflow repeatedly after fixes

You do not need to be an advanced software engineer.

However, you should be technically curious and comfortable learning how modern applications work.

    What Makes This Internship Different

You will not simply observe a software team.

You will help determine whether software gets approved for release.

    Your work may directly influence:

    ·       engineering priorities

    ·       product design

    ·       AI accuracy

    ·       onboarding flows

    ·       integrations

    ·       user experience

    ·       software QA

    ·       product management

    ·       AI testing

    ·       API testing

    ·       integration testing

    About the company

KeyPath is an AI-powered fintech platform that enables single-family and multifamily landlords to offer tenants and community stakeholders fractional ownership through tokens tied to their rental properties. As tenants pay rent, they accumulate tokens and build equity, earning benefits such as capped rent increases (annually or indefinitely), the option to transfer or sell tokens, and the ability to use them as a down payment on a future home. Landlords retain control through customizable token rights, such as buyback options and ownership milestones that unlock tenant benefits, while improving tenant retention, aligning incentives across renters, landlords, and community stakeholders, and unlocking liquidity in the $49.6 trillion rental housing market.
